Free choice of server

TeamDrive offers two alternatives for synchronising and safeguarding your data reliably: either you can use the TeamDrive cloud (TeamDrive hosts the servers for you), which means that we take care of everything, or you can use your own TeamDrive server.

The synchronisation of your spaces (synchronised folders) is carried out by the TeamDrive client using the TeamDrive servers. This ensures that all files are always synchronised reliably and securely.

The TeamDrive software can be used in combination with all three servers at the same time. You can select the TeamDrive Amazon Cloud, a private TeamDrive Personal Server or WebDAV for each space.

TeamDrive cloud

With the default settings for the TeamDrive cloud, you have 2 GB of storage capacity at your disposal free of charge. Everything is taken care of for you here. You can increase your storage capacity by as much as you want at any time. Several encrypted security copies of your data are created automatically in the TeamDrive cloud. The TeamDrive cloud therefore gives you the maximum security for your data. We work exclusively with secure, certified data centers. For our European customers we solely store all data in data centers in countries of the European Union. Data of all other customers is hosted in North America (e.g. Amazon Web Services in the USA). Upon customer request we can assign the location individually.

Your own TeamDrive server

Alternatively you can also use your own servers to synchronise your data through TeamDrive. You have two options for the installation of your own TeamDrive servers:

• TeamDrive Personal Server - This solution is simple to install and is available for Windows, Mac and Linux. It is equally suitable for companies, educational establishments and private users. By using your own TeamDrive server, your server becomes a data safe, since all of the data are automatically saved in a securely encrypted format. You also retain physical control over your data.

WebDAV servers

As a third option, TeamDrive can synchronise over WebDAV servers. No installation of server software is required for this, although the WebDAV servers that are to be used must support the entire range of standard commands. Many providers of WebDAV services set various limitations that make the technology difficult to use for professional purposes. In these cases, we recommend using TeamDrive servers.
