TeamDrive was founded in 2005 as a subsidiary of SNAP Innovation Softwareentwicklungsgesellschaft mbH in Hamburg, Germany. TeamDrive technology is based on more than 20 years of experience in the development of database and application server technology. Today, the databases are successfully deployed in hundreds of thousands of computers.

The founding members Volker Oboda (CEO) and Detlef Schmuck (COO) lead the company in its next phase becoming a global player in the market. Patrik Dusek (CTO) and his in house development team is supported by the inventor of the TeamDrive technology Paul McCullagh (shareholder and board member). Paul´s software inventions in core database technology have successfully fueled a number of successful companies. His contributions to the MySQL community where rewarded Code Contributor of the year 2007.
